Built on generations of expertise
Our roots in instrument transformer engineering began before the business was established in 1968. Bringing almost two decades of design experience from his previous roles at British Electrical Transformers and Crompton Parkinson, our founder Dermot Moriarty laid the foundations for the depth of instrument transformer expertise we’re known for today.
When his son Nick joined in the mid-1980s, he brought ten years of experience with Eastern Electricity and a first-hand understanding of electricity transmission and distribution from the customer perspective.
That combination of specialist design knowledge and practical industry experience helped shape the way we work today. We take the time to understand the wider application and technical requirements behind a specification, working closely with our customers to develop practical solutions that meet complex requirements.

As we continue to invest and evolve, the things that matter remain the same. Our transformers are still designed, manufactured and tested in Colchester, with the specialist knowledge and close customer relationships that have defined our business for generations.
